A lot has been said over the last 24 hours with regards to Arsenal apparently making a £6million bid for Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill whom they value at £17million. But Arsene Wenger has said that this figure of £6million is not true but he admits that they are interested in signing the England defender.
“First of all I would like to say the number is wrong,” said Wenger.
“It’s completely wrong and nothing to do with how much we rate the player.
“I believe negotiations are between two parties and you only have to sell the player if you are alright with the price.
“In this case the information is below what has been spoken about.”
It is a bonus knowing that Wenger is actually talking to Bolton about Cahill. Hopefully we can reach an agreement with them and they will sell him to us. A lot of Arsenal’s transfer activities hinged on whether we would qualify for the Champions League or not. Now that we have, you can expect a whole host of signings to start making their way to the club.
With all this transfer talk, we should not forget about our ‘small little’ match on Sunday against Manchester United. They think that they have already beaten us I can see us shocking them! Go you Gunners!
