Wenger wants Nasri to stay a Gunner

|

Arsene Wenger has finally spoken out about the future of Nasri. There has been a lot of speculation that Nasri will be leaving Arsenal this summer with Manchester United and Bayern Munich reportedly interested in him. Whether Nasri stays or goes, we will have to wait and see but Wenger has made it clear that he does not want his fellow countryman to leave.

Wenger said: “We will do everything to keep Nasri at the club. My wish is that he stays here.

“If he looks back he can see that he’s come quite a long way with us, and I think there is still a bit to do. It’s the club that makes the player’s career.”

Judging by this and reading between the lines, Wenger is basically telling Nasri that Arsenal made him what he is today and he should stay not only to better himself as he is not the finished article yet but also that he owes it to Arsenal that they made him the star he is today.

But loyalty means nothing in the game of football today. Classic example, look at Mascherano at Liverpool; Liverpool signed him from sitting on the bench for West Ham and moulded him into one of the finest defensive midfielders in the game today and to captain Argentina and he just dumped them to go to Barcelona at the end of it all.
