Arsenal eye Bundesliga duo (Full Story)
The Mirror are reporting that Arsenal are targeting two Bundesliga stars: Bayer Leverkusen forward Karim Bellarabi and Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes.
Howedes is an experienced German international and Champions League defender and is thought to be keen on moving to the Premier League. The 27-year-old would be a versatile addition to the Gunners backline and is reported to be available for just €10million due to a buyout clause in his contract.
25-year-old Bellarabi has also broken in Joachim Loew’s plans in recent months and is thought to cost between £15m-£20m. He’s put in some dynamic performances in the Bundesliga over the past few seasons and looks like he would be an exciting signing for the club, particularly with options on the wing few and far between due to our injury crisis.
Former academy star to return to Arsenal (TalkSport)
Former Gunners academy player Oguzhan Ozyakup is being lined up for an £8m move back to the Emirates according to Talk Sport.
Arsene Wenger sold the 23-year-old defensive midfielder to Besiktas in 2012 for a fee of £350,000, however since his departure, he has matured into a solid deep lying midfielder. Arsenal scouts were reported in Turkey to be watching as he scored the winner in Besiktas’ 1-0 win over Bursaspor on Sunday
Midfield options are limited at the club right now and with the expected departures of Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky in the summer, Ozyakup would make a good signing considering he is now a full Turkey international, has matured into one of the best players in Turkey and knows the club.
Arsenal eye Leicester City winger- not Mahrez! (Metro)
The Metro are reporting that Arsenal are chasing a Leicester winger, however not the one you may think…
Reports are linking us with a £10million January move for versatile wide man Jeff Schlupp, who despite not appearing in the limelight as much as Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy in the foxes rise to the upper echelons of the Premier League, has been one of their standout performers this season.
The 22-year-old German can play at either left-back or midfield and would be a welcome boost to our injury ravaged squad.
Audacious rumour links Alexis with Manchester United (Express)
In one of the most ridiculous transfer rumours of the season, the media has been flooded with reports that Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal attempting to lure Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford by telling him he could be the “cornerstone” of their team.
The Dutchman has been vocal in his desire for a speedy winger, however with Sanchez already pledging his future to us over Madrid, settled in London and already a club icon at Arsenal, this one seems desperate even for United’s standards.
You can understand why the Dutch dictator would be jealous of Arsene for having a player like Sanchez at his disposal, but he seems to forget he’s already the cornerstone of our team and there is no chance he would be allowed to leave.
