Arsenal’s search for a new striker took a knock as a £6.6million offer for Brazil striker Alexandre Pato was rejected by Corinthians according to the Daily Express.

There is a lot of speculation right now surrounding which striker is Arsene Wenger going to buy in January to help Olivier Giroud. The French striker has been leading the Arsenal line alone this season with very little support from Nicklas Bendtner as the Danish striker is simply not good enough.

The great thing for Arsenal this season has been the fine form of our midfielders, namely Aaron Ramsey who has chipped in with the goals. Without Ramsey’s goals, one wonders where we would be with our lack of striking options.

Pato would be a great signing for Arsenal and I am sure Wenger will go in with another bid for the 24-year old striker. A fee of £10million may be needed to sign Pato from Corinthians following his move from AC Milan in January.

Pato has previously spoken out about a failed move to Tottenham this summer, but it now appears that he could be on his way to London with either Arsenal or Tottenham as they still have an interest in him.
