Only a couple of weeks ago when Arsene Wenger sold Gael Clichy to Manchester City, he said that he would not be going out to buy another left-back to replace Clichy as he had sufficiant cover in the form of Gibbs, Tarore and Vermaelen. But now following our shocking start to the season and the injury to Gibbs, Wenger is now set to sign a new left-back.

Armand Tarore is also set to leave Arsneeal and join QPR which will leave us very short of options at left-back. But this problem could be solved by signing Brazilian Andre Santos from Fenerbahce for £6million.

The 28-year-old left-back, who has 22 caps for Brazil, is set to complete his move to Arsenal before the close of the transfer window according to The Sun.

Just what can Santos do? Have a look at him in action below and let us know what you think.

looks a good player going forward, what he like in defence is another matter, but we do need aplayer who can actually teach rvp how to take a free kick

Santos is a great player. He’s skillfull, he has got pace and he’s strong. He can defend at the same time very good going forward. At least we know that our left back is sorted, our right back is good(Sagna) we have Vermelen and Cahill will joing by tomorrow which is a pleasing news. Also Park will boost our attack and we might revert back to Arsenal winning formation of 4-4-1-1. Where is the creative mid fielder? That is the only thing left. I also read that we want to sign Alex, well he’s strong but lack pace. He will be a good cover though for our defence. As a cover, he might be fit for the entire season because he’s also injury prone.

nice signing. I hope arsenal signs some good creative mid-fielders. which would be expensive and hard to get.. lets hope for the best.
