Champions League

Two reasons why Arsenal need to be careful of Udinese

|

Arsenal were handed a tough draw today in the Champions League as we have to play Italian side Udinese. On paper it may look like any easy tie but it could get tricky for The Gunners.

Firstly, the first leg is at the Emirates and we have to travel away in the second leg. It is always better to have to second leg at home in my opinion so atleast you know exactly what kind of a result you need. We have to make sure we do not concede a goal in the first leg and give them an away goal advantage. And with the way our defence is looking right now, I will not put it past Udinese to grab a goal.

The second reason this tie will be tricky is because we will be without Nasri, Van Persie and Wenger for the game. Nasri and Wenger were banned for one match by UEFA after having a go at the referee after the Barcelona game last season. Whilst Van Persie is banned for picking up a red card last season in that tie.

And to top it off, who knows if Fabregas will still be an Arsenal player by then or if he would even want to play and risk being cup tied for the rest of the Champions League and thus spoil his dream move to Barcelona.

Lets not forget these matches are wedged between games against liverpool and united

So what kind of squad does wenger go with

He would have to go with full strength for each one as all are important and potentially difficult – but could he field a less than 100% strength team for the qualifiers ?

There is a reason why there is a deadline for the cesc deal. They already said to barca August 5 or bust. Well sorry cesc I would hoped that barca get serious about buying you but it’s still the same joke from them sorry. Time to clear your mind and prepare for next season in London.

Well Arsene said that he doesnt want to sign players but super quality players yet he has some talent awaiting to go to bigger clubs and he hasn’t touched them

The two other reasons are …

    > Udinese are a tough, skilful team which is tactically astute and very good at defending.

    > We are only skilful .. that’s all.

Plus Arsenal is in a bloody mess of uncertainty.

Barca are toying with us. They can agree the right money (if they can raise it ?) as late as possible so that we have little time to reinvest and reorganise. This is how they are punishing Arsenal for the ‘outrage’ of (legally) taking Cesc, aged 16.
