Why have Arsenal not bid for this winger?

|

It was thought that Arsenal had already mad a bid for Southampton’s Alex Chamberalin but according to the Saints manager, Nigel Adkins, no such bid has been made by Arsenal or anyone else.

He told the BBC, “We’re not trying to sell him, he’s had a good first season here and the important thing is he’s still here.

“There’s speculation linking him with other clubs but we want him to stay, and those are the facts.”

“I had a good conversation with him this week, he had a good first season with us, he loves Southampton and he openly admits that.

“There is always going to be interest in Alex, not just from Arsenal but from every football club in this country and abroad.

“But he’s training very hard with the players at the moment, doing his fitness tests, and we’re looking forward to the campaign, it’s as simple as that.”

Now what is surprising me is that Chamberalin’s father had come out before and said that he wants his son to join Arsenal, so at that time we thought that is was almost a done deal that Arsenal would sign him before the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal get a hold of him.

Do you think Arsenal should continue to pursue this young wonder or we already have enough young talent at the club?

If what we were lead to believe was true it looked like he was on his way to Arsenal for between 7 and 10 million with Southampton`s and his Dad`s blessings. Now he`s going nowhere.
What`s wrong with a pre-contract agreement then we all know where we stand?

Waste of time. Sign experienced players. Not young wankers

Messi, Ronaldo & Van Persie were also teenagers not too long ago. It’s true we need experienced signings but we also need to maintain investing in youth, we don’t want to miss out on discovering big talents of the future; we scout young talents as well as any team about after all.
