Transfer Talk

£12million is a bargain for Chris Samba

|

Reports today (Monday) suggest that Arsenal will have to pay Blackburn £12million for Chris Samba. This is because Blackburn have to pay Samba’s former team, Hertha Berlin, 15% of any fee for him.

To me this does not make much of a big difference, if we do have to pay Rovers £12million for Samba then we should do it. I am tired of Arsenal not willing to spend money in the transfer market. Do not get me wrong, I do not think we should go out and blow every single cent we have and pay over the top on some players, but in the transfer market that we are in today £12million for Samba is actually a bargain deal.

Samba is a top class defender and he has experience playing in the Premier League. The fact that he is not English means that we do not have to pay a premium for him like what Liverpool and Manchester United did. Manchester United paid £16million for Samba’s team mate Phil Jones. In my opinion, I think Samba is better than Jones as he has much more experience and Samba is the one that made Jones look good at Blackburn.

So if we are to spend only £12million on Samba then we should not complain and say the price is too high because another team like Spurs will come in and steal him from us!
