Transfer Talk

Arsenal’s shock bid for Jermain Defoe

|

The weekend papers and reports went crazy with talk that Arsenal were lining up a shock bid for Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe. When I first heard this new, I thought it was just silly weekend transfer talk to sell papers and drive traffic to websites. But then more and more sites were running with this story and where there is smoke there is fire!

It could be true that Arsenal may want to sign Jermain Defoe especially since Spurs may be willing to sell him and with Arsenal looking to sign a striker to support Van Persie next season.

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be willing to listen to offers for their £10million-rated striker and this may just turn out to be a bargain buy as Defoe is an experiences campaigner in the Premier League and the only reason he is not getting many games at Spurs is because Harry Redknapp has opted to use Rafael Van der Vaart and Peter Crouch upfront.

I would love to hear from you fellow Gooners what you think about the possibility of signing Defoe? Would this be a good signing? Would we want an ex-Spurs player?

    no

cant say much. He has pace, is a good finisher and can complement RvP very well, if RvP plays in the hole behind the striker. His experience could be vital for Arsenal as well. its a 50-50

Remember what happened last time we signed someone from spurs? Wouldn’t be a bad signing!

For me i prefair we buy Osaze From Wesbrom than this Dafoe that always injured. Remember Rvp dont always finish season, so we need someone with Int’l experience to help us go for trophies and not someone that has not won any trophy in his career. We ar looking at champions, remember, it was the championship spirit in Yaya that gave City a trophy this season, AW should go for mach winners and the ones with mind to last the test of the season.
