Barcelona to offer Alcantara to get Fabregas

|

Barcelona do not seem to be giving up on signing Cesc Fabregas anytime soon. If Barcelona had the money to buy Fabregas out right then this deal would have happened a long time ago but the only reason it is stalling is that Barcelona do not want to pay the reported £50million that Arsenal want for Fabregas.

So now Barcelona are proposing a new offer for Arsenal. Thiago Alcantara has been offered to Arsenal as part of the deal to try get Cesc. Now the first thing that sprung to my mind when I heard about this is, “Who is Thiago Alcantara?”

I gather that he is one of Barcelona’s up and coming stars. Being a young Barcelona player is not a great thing right now as it is virtually impossible to break into the first team. Although I gather that Alcantara featured towards the end of the season for Barcelona. Maybe the youngster is good and we just have not gotten the chance to see him. We will be able to get a closer look at him this summer when he plays for Spain in the European Under 21 tournament.

Reports in Spain suggest Alcantara met Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger when Barcelona were in London for the Champions League final. The youngster, who was born in Italy made his Barcelona debut as an 18-year-old in May 2009 and scored his first goal in February 2010.

What do you make of this deal? How much are they going to value Alcantara as part of the deal?
