Jonathan Kaney gives his view on the latest gossip concerning Arsenal, with the rumours heating up ahead of the January window.

Arsenal have reignited their pursuit of Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema amid his complains. (Mirror)

View: With Benzema unhappy with being constantly substituted by Rafa Benitez and the relationship soured, Benzema would likely jump at the chance to move the Emirates if Wenger put a bid in. £70m seems steep though, particularly with Theo Walcott’s good form. Could see Wenger offering £35m for him, although it would certainly mean the end of Oliver Giroud’s stay if Benzema was to arrive.

TalkSport are reporting that Arsenal are battling Bayern Munich and Barcelona for 19-year-old Ajax starlet Riechedly Bazoer. The young Dutchman is a hot prospect in European football and the Gunners could look to make a move for him in January. (TalkSport)

View: Arsene Wenger’s ability to spot a good young player is amazing and with Gunners record of promoting youth and offering first team chances, we would have a good chance of snatching him from Barca and Bayern.

Arsene Wenger is chasing Real Madrid stars Karim Benzema and Isco, and will move for unhappy backup striker Jese on loan with a view to a permanent deal if he fails to land Benzema. (Mirror)

View: Hard to see where Isco would fit in the talent filled squad, however would be a fantastic option to have in the squad. The Spaniard is a creative magician and would be a superb signing for the Gunners. The pursuit of Benzema has been ongoing, but Jese is an interesting option. He has all the characteristics to score goals in the Premier League and any striker would relish playing behind the likes of Ozil and Sanchez.

Real Madrid are preparing to move for Alexis Sanchez and could offer the Gunners £37m plus Russian international Denis Cheryshev. (Mirror)

View: With talk of Sanchez signing a deal to make him the highest paid player at the club, Alexis has quickly moved to quash a potential move to Madrid. With Real’s penchant for signing the star of the moment and the toxic rivalry between Gareth Bale and Ronaldo, Sanchez is more likely to stay at Arsenal where he is already a hero.

Arsene Wenger could offer up to £18m for Celta Vigo’s Spanish international Nolito to solve the striker shortage at the Emirates. (Metro)

View: Wasn’t convinced by Nolito when these rumours first started, however seeing him play in the Euro qualifiers and in recent games for Celta Vigo he is definitely a talent. May be worth the money with the injury to Welbeck and provide competition for Theo and Giroud without demanding first team football.
