Piers Morgan has taken Arsenal’s transfer business into his own hands and tried to sign Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany for £60m.
The television host tried to lure the Belgian centre-half to North London after watching Arsenal’s defence capitulate in last night’s 3-3 draw with Anderlecht.
Kompany, who began his career with Anderlecht, took to Twitter to celebrate his former club’s miraculous comeback after Arsene Wenger’s Piers Morgan’s troops surrendered a three-goal lead at the Emirates.
While his negotiation skills could use a little improvement, we can’t fault Morgan’s ambition.
OMG Anderlecht!!

“@piersmorgan: @VincentKompany I know, I know…it's just too painful. If I pay you £50m will you come and play for us?” Great club but no.

Actually I’m impressed. Not many time we saw Morgan act positively. His offer to Kompany was silly, and shouldn’t be consider seriously by any means. But he got it spot on, there’s a latent weakness at our defensive side. Arsene has an obligation to fix it a.s.a.p!
