How Arsenal’s striker problems could be so different right now if then Barcelona star David Villa had joined the Gunners in January. Villa is now at Atletico Madrid having joined them in the summer, but the 32-year old Spanish striker has revealed that Arsenal approached him in January and he considered joining them.

“Arsenal’s offer was very good for the club and great for me,” he said to Canal +.

“But they [Barcelona], did not deem it feasible for me to leave at that time. I was told that I was needed.”

Villa may have been too old for Wenger as we know our manager likes signing young players but considering Villa’s quality, it is no surprise the club tried to sign him.

For now we have to look at who else Arsenal can bring in to help take the load off Olivier Giroud. It will be one of the worst decisions in Wenger’s time at Arsenal if he does not buy a striker or bring on in on loan in January. We are all set to mount a serious title push and it would be a shame if that all falls apart if we struggle in our striking department. Yes, we are getting goals from our midfielders but at the end of the day, we need striker who you pay to find the goals for you.

I know I will be shot down by a lot of fans for this but if Arsenal do not bring in another striker then we have to keep Nicklas Bendtner as he can be another option for Giroud. As much as we all do not like Bendtner, I think it is better having him than having no other options at all.
