TalkSPORT is reporting that Arsenal are keeping an AC Milan right back Mattia De Sciglio as a potential replacement for Bacary Sagna.

Sagna’s contract expires at the end of the season and it does not seem like he will be offered a new deal thus Arsene Wenger has too look at bringing in a replacement. Carl Jenkinson is currently not up to par with his game and still needs a couple more season to develop into a decent right back.

TalkSPORT says: “The Arsenal boss is thought to be tracking De Sciglio, who has made impressive progress since making his senior debut for Milan against Viktoria Plzen in September 2011.

The 21-year-old made 27 league appearances last term and has already earned eight caps for Italy.

AC Milan are understandably keen to keep hold of him and would demand a fee in excess of £10m for the defender, who is under contract until June 2016.”

Being an avid follower of the Serie A, when I saw this article I got really excited as I have seen how good a player De Sciglio is. He would be the perfect fit for Arsenal as he has a great turn of pace and loves going forward like Sagna currently does. Added to this, De Sciglio can also play comfortably at left back.

De Sciglio is also already a full Italy international at the tender age of 21 and if he is to follower into the foot steps of legendary Italian defenders, he probably still have 15 years of top flight football ahead of him.

My gut thinks that AC Milan would not be willing to sell their star player but you never know in the world of football today. If they get a decent enough bid then they may be happy to sell and I would urge Arsenal to pull out all the stops to sign De Sciglio.
