All the talk so far about players linked with Arsenal for a January move has been centered around strikers. There is no doubt that Arsenal need another striker or two to come in and take the load off Olivier Giroud. But the Daily Star is reporting that Arsenal are among the clubs keeping a close eye on Ukraine’s lethal winger Yevhen Konoplyanka.

England fans will remember Yevhen Konoplyanka following his brilliant displays for Ukraine against England in the World Cup qualifiers. It is no surprise that a whole host of Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham also want him.

Konoplyanka’s agent James Lippett said: “We are aware of the interest from a number of Europe’s major clubs.

“This is only normal when you are talking about a star player like Konoplyanka.

“He can do things on a football pitch that very few players can come close to, so we are expecting an interesting January.”

It is thought that a bid of £15million would tempt Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk to sell Konoplyanka. This could be a bargain deal for a 24-year old player who is already causing havoc across Europe and still yet to reach his full potential.

Arsenal currently have a wealth of midfield talent but Konoplyanka would offer something very different with his pace, trickery and creativity together with the ability to operate from either flanks or down the middle. This would be a good signing for Arsenal to add to the squad and also beat off our rivals.
