As you can imagine following Arsenal’s blunt display upfront against Manchester United on Sunday, the papers are linking the Gunners with almost every striker out there.

It is no secret that another striker (or two) is need to join Arsenal as early as January to provide cover and support for Olivier Giroud. When Arsenal were down against United on Sunday, Wenger looked to bring on an attacking option from the bench and all he could see was Nicklas Bendtner. Now that is not a great option to call upon at all!

Arsenal can not continue like this and a signing needs to be made in January. The Daily Star is reporting that Arsenal are could be ready to make a bid for Chelsea’s Demba Ba.

Arsenal could make a shock £15million bid for Chelsea striker Demba Ba in January.

Wenger thought of moving for Ba, 28, last summer when he failed to sign the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema.

Senegal star Ba scored his first goal of the season for Chelsea against Schalke in the Champions League on Wednesday but is way down the Stamford Bridge pecking order.

Now Demba would be the perfect signing for Arsenal has his physical play is similar to that of Giroud and thus he would fit seamlessly into the Arsenal system.

It is clear that Mourinho has cast Ba away as he opts to play with Torres or Eto’o. However, knowing Mourinho he will not want to sell a player to a rival. Look at what he did with Willian, he simply signed him so that Spurs or Liverpool could not have him. Managers should stop doing this and rather let players get a chance to join a club where they are needed and can play.

Ba should hand in a transfer request if Mourinho refuses to sell him. A player of his qualities should not be sitting on the bench and would be better off at a club where he is needed.
