Aaron Ramsey can not stop scoring! I will be the first to admit I am swallowing humble pie right now as I slated Ramsey last year because of his poor form. But this season he has managed to score his 13 goals already, including the winner against Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Speaking after the Dortmund game, Ramsey said, ‘I’m enjoying myself at the moment and everything seems to be going in.
‘It was a proper away performance, defending well and going on the counter-attack. They are no
mugs, they got to the final last year and were unlucky.
‘They are a very strong team and we had to do our defensive work really well. We’re delighted with that.’
Arsene Wenger was full of praise for Ramsey following the win and the Arsenal manager added, ‘It shows you how difficult it is to make an assessment: a year ago people thought Ramsey could not score.
‘This season he scores game after game. I was always positive with him because when you watch him he is always in goalscoring situations. He has gained confidence this season and has an unbelievable engine. He has ability and that makes him dangerous.’
Now we all hope that Ramsey can continue this fine form for the rest of the season.
Ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Manchester United on Sunday, Ramsey announced today that he had received new football boots from Adidas and he will be wearing them for the first time at Old Trafford. I hope Ramsey’s goal scoring touch is not affected by these new boots!
