The January transfer window is fast approaching and it would be great if Arsenal are able to add a quality player or two in the window, especially another striker.

Speaking ahead of the Borussia Dortmund clash, Arsene Wenger spoke about the January transfer window and how he will be approaching it.

“We have a squad that is very, very good in quality and in numbers,” he added.

“If there is a good opportunity to make another signing in January, why not? But we are not desperate now.

“It’s important to remember who is out injured because when they all come back in November and the beginning of December, then we have a really massive squad.”

I am sure a good opportunity will present itself in January and it will be interesting to see what Wenger does. One player being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in January is Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. This would be a great signing for Arsenal as he seems to have fallen out of favour at Madrid.

A player like Benzema should have no problems adjusting to the Premier League as he has all the attributes to succeed in the league coupled with all the French influence at Arsenal already.

Wenger is right though about the wealth of options we will have when all the player are fit. One area we should not worry about is midfield as we are flourishing there. It will be a case of ‘who does he leave out’. It is also great to note that we are still in all the Cup competitions so we can use our squad to challenge for all the honours.
