Arsenal have received some bad news today and it is to do with Theo Walcott’s injury. It was expected that the England winger would be available for Arsenal again this week in the Champions League but he had a setback in training.

Wenger said: “He had a setback on Thursday. He had to stop, to jog again.

“I don’t think we will see him against Dortmund nor Crystal Palace nor Chelsea.

“He is at least two weeks away now.”

In all honesty, there is no need to rush Walcott back from his injury as the team is doing very well right now without him. It is best to let him make a full recovery so that he can be 100% fit again.

What will be interesting to see is where Walcott plays when he returns and whose place he takes in the side. With the abundance on midfield options and lack of strikers, I would like to see Walcott be given a more central striking role when Giroud is not available. Walcott has always said that he wants to play as a striker and maybe now is the best time for him considering we have so many creative players in midfield behind him.
