Premier League football is finally back. It had been a long wait as we had to go through the International games but I am glad that is all done with and well done to England for qualifying for Brazil 2014. Hopefully this time we can go a step further than before and bring home the title.

But the current focus now is on Arsenal and looking ahead to the match against Norwich this weekend. Arsene Wenger gave his pre-match press conference and he gave us an update on the current injury situation courtesy of Arsenal.com:

on Mesut Ozil, who was substituted for Germany on Tuesday…
He is alright. He came back with a knock on the knee but it was just a kick. We’ll have a test tomorrow to see if he is fit enough for Saturday or not. When you have not played, there is always a little doubt but not a major one.

on Sagna and Cazorla…
Sagna is 80 per cent fit and he will have a test. Cazorla is available in training but he is not match-fit. It is just about competitiveness with him. There is a possibility both are in the squad for Saturday. I have not decided whether they will start or not.

on Rosicky and Walcott…
Rosicky is back in the squad and available. Walcott is still two weeks away.

on Sanogo, Podolski, Diaby, Oxlade-Chamberlain…
All of them are out for a longer period.

The best bit of news must be that Ozil is not seriously injured and is available. I am sure the German maestro will recover in time for the game an take his place in the starting lineup. The return of Santi Cazorla is also key as we have been relishing to see how well he plays with Ozil. This could just be the best partnership we have seen at Arsenal in a very long time if it clicks.

It is good to see that we are slowly recovering from our injuries and let’s just hope it stays that way and we do not continue to pick up more casualties.
