With Arsenal looking set to sell Gael Clichy this summer to Liverpool, it is Liverpool’s first-choice left-back target that may just end up coming to Asrenal to fill in where Clichy will leave open. Newcastle’s Spanish left-back Jose Enrique is a target for Arsene Wenger.
Enrique has been a target for many clubs across Europe from Liverpool to Barcelona as he is refusing to sign a new contract with Newcastle. Many people had thought that Enrique would sign for Liverpool but that deal is getting cold now as Liverpool focus their attention on our Clichy.
I believe that Enrique really wants to push for a place in the Spanish national team and he will only do that by playing for a big team and playing in the Champions League. He will not be getting that if he goes to Liverpool. Thus a £15million move to Arsenal would be a better option for him.
