Arsenal are one of the clubs keeping a close eye on French international midfielder Blaise Matuidi. Matuidi is currently playing for St Etienne and the defensive enforcer would be sold if a club comes in with a bid of £13.2million according to their president Roland Romeyer.
“The right fee is €15million (£13.2m). We will not discuss anything lower,” Romeyer told The Progress.
Arsenal have missed a big combative midfielder since Vieira left. Alex Song has come in and done a decent job for Arsenal but signing another enforcer like Matuidi would be good for Arsenal. The fee being asked by the St Etienne president may be a bit too high for a player with only 3 caps for France but since he is only 24 years old, he could have a couple more good seasons of football under his belt.
