Arsenal are facing the threat of an early exit from the Champions League for the first-time under Arsene Wenger after losing the opening two matches of Group F.
A string of errors saw Olympiacos defeat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium last night for their first ever victory on English soil, which added to the Gunners woes after a 2-1 defeat suffered on their visit to Dinamo Zagreb two weeks ago.
Only nine sides have advanced from the group stages in the Champions League after losing their first two matches but Wenger is adamant his side can do the seemingly impossible. Quoted by The BBC, he said:
“It leaves us in a bad position but we are still in it. We have to get a result in our next game against Bayern Munich.”
Arsenal now face the daunting task of back-to-back matches against Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich, who secured a 5-0 drubbing of Dinamo Zagreb last night to continue their run of winning all matches so far this season.
