Reported Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain is not seeking a transfer away from Napoli and is happy with the Italian club, according to his agent.
The Argentine striker was heavily linked with a move to North London in 2013, before sealing a move to the Serie A club, and was again linked with a transfer over the summer following Napoli’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.
However Higuain’s agent, his brother Nicolas, claims the 27-year-old Argentine international is happy in Naples. TalkSport quotes him as stating:
“He’s happy with (Napoli manager) Sarri.”
“Everyone wants to play football, and the important thing is that he’s calm, he’s realised what Sarri wants and now he just has to remain calm and focused.”
“It’s been a major change and he’s responding well to the demands of the coach. Gonzalo is doing the maximum with Sarri.”
Arsenal fans felt aggrieved in the summer as a striker was not signed, leaving the Gunners as the only club in Europe’s top-five leagues not to sign a senior outfield player.
