Arsenal have been boosted by the news that Borussia Dortmund are prepared to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, though it would cost the Gunners a club-record fee.

German publication Bild state Aubameyang would be allowed to leave if £42m is offered for the Gabonese international.

The highly-rated forward has been in sensational form this season, scoring 14 goals in 12 Bundesliga matches, and is regarded to be amongst the finest finishers in world football.

With the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Edinson Cavani and Karim Benzema proving to be extremely expensive, Aubameyang could be available for a smaller fee- although there are still issues.

The report adds Aubameyang has a pact with team-mate Marco Reus to remain with Dortmund as long as the German international does the same.

Reus himself has been linked with an exit but Arsenal would be relying on another club to secure the services of the German winger, although many would love to see Reus also move to the Emirates. However, such a deal is unlikely.
