5 reasons Pep Guardiola is the perfect future Arsenal boss

|

For the past few years the back pages have been full of suggestions that Arsene Wenger would retire, with a lot of discussions as to who could be handed the monumental task of replacing him.

Arsenal have been led by Wenger for the past nineteen years and, despite nine-years without a trophy between 2005 and 2014, the Frenchman is widely considered to be the best and most successful manager in the long history of the Gunners.

Therefore, how on earth does anyone follow that? It makes the potential successors to Wenger coming from a very short list- but Jonathan Kaney believes one-man is perfect for the job.

He is, of course, none over than Pep Guardiola; a manager who has risen to fame through successes with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. It would be a stern test luring him to North London but would certainly be beneficial.

He’s a trophy winning machine

At just 44-years-old the Bayern Munich manager has won an astonishing 19 trophies in his short career managing Barca and Bayern and is as close to a guarantee of success in football as it comes.

He’s criticized when he ‘just’ wins a league or cup title and his sides are always a contender for the Champions League. He would be the man to take us to the next level and challenge for the Champions League once again.

He plays beautiful football the Arsenal way

Of all the contenders to fill Arsene Wenger’s shoes, Pep’s style and philosophy is the closest to Arsene’s and his appointment would carry on the club’s tradition of free-flowing attacking football for a new generation.

He would attract big players

One of the greatest strengths of our club is we can attract big players – not just superstars who want to be at a top four club, play Champions League football, play under Wenger or challenge for the title very year, but also the best young players who know they will get a chance to learn and thrive.

Pep is one of the best managers in the world and players would jump at the chance to play for him – just as they done throughout the years for Arsene.

He can turn young players into stars

Guardiola shares Arsene’s youth policy and despite having millions of pounds available to him at Barca and Bayern he always finds a way to blood in youth.

This is a huge part of Arsenal’s reputation and tradition, and Pep is perhaps the only manager who can match Arsene in finding young talent and making them into superstars at the elite level.

He would thrive in building a legacy at Arsenal

Pep is yet to manage in the Premier League, but Arsenal are the closest club in England to Barcelona’s ethos. He would be given time, resources and the support of a healthy thriving club to build a team and a legacy.

For a manager who defies all the rules, has his own style and is motivated by football over money, the Gunners project is a far better platform than the hollow pit of cash and demanding owners of City, Chelsea or PSG.
