Arsene Wenger is notoriously careful with club finances in transfer windows, but has shown in the past he will splash the cash if the right comes player becomes available.

Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann

Heavily linked in the media with a summer move to the Gunners, Arsene is thought to be very keen on bringing the dynamic Frenchman to the Emirates. The feisty attacker has something about him – flair, quality, pace, drive, not to mention being a prolific goalscorer.

He’s been sensational for Atletico Madrid since his move last year and would be a signing that would further increase our already outstanding attack. He looks set to be up there with the best players in the world in the next few years and Atletico know they can only hold on to him for so long.

We can only dream of him arriving in January, but a mega-money move in the summer is a real possibility.

Edinson Cavani

Cavani

Cavani is one of the best strikers in the world and the Uruguayan has often signalled his discontent at playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic at PSG.

It would cost around £60m to take him to the Emirates but it would be a move that would finally put to bed any notion that the Gunners lack a world class striker in the squad.

Another January dream, although the summer will undoubtedly see him heavily linked to us again.

Isco

Isco

Rumoured to be unhappy in Madrid, Isco would be another superb attacking signing. His classy and skilful style of play would fit perfectly with Arsenal and would be another signing of intent from Arsene Wenger after Ozil and Sanchez.

Any striker that played in a team that contained Cazorla, Isco, Ozil and Sanchez would be blessed with some of the best creativity in the world at their disposal and would a frightening prospect for the opposition.

A realistic prospect for Gooners, but as usual we’ll to wait and see if he arrives.

Gregorz Krychowiak

Krychowiak

The 25-year-old defensive midfield star has been linked with elite clubs across Europe after being a key figure for Sevilla in winning the Europa League last season.

I’m a huge fan of the big Pole, who is a strong, tall and powerful presence in the centre and the perfect player for a position we desperately need to cover

. He would provide a different dimension in the first team to the classy Cazorla and combative Coquelin and would also be a big improvement on our other options.

As one of the most highly-rated defensive midfielders in the world, Krychowiak would be a superb and realistic signing for the Gunners in January.

Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi

We are dreaming after all…Messi came dangerously close to leaving Barcelona last season after a fall out with Luis Enrique and is at the centre of a tax trial with Spanish authorities. Let’s pretend for a second Barcelona decided to sell him and he arrived at the Emirates after choosing us over cash-rich rivals for our outstanding free-flowing football and club heritage.

The Argentinian would line up in attack alongside Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and potentially Antoine Griezmann. What a mouth watering prospect that would be!

Unfortunately as we live in real world and not in Football Manager, Gooners can only dream. As you can see here though, it was very nearly a reality!
