After Arsenal’s comfortable 3-0 victory over Watford yesterday, Jonathan Kaney gives his view on two rumours from the Sunday press.

Arsenal want to sign Griezmann before Euro 2016 (Fichajes)

Antoine Griezmann

Rumours are flying around that Atletico Madrid sensation Antoine Griezmann will be the Gunners main target this summer, and Arsene will look to sign him before Euro 2016.

With all the names we have been linked with in recent weeks, for me Griezmann is the most exciting. At 24 he is already a talisman for Atletico Madrid and is one of the most exciting attacking players in Europe.

With an impressive record of 24 goals in 46 appearances last season and 5 goals in 9 so for this term, he has all the attributes to be a serious player for the Gunners and would be a star signing that would excite than fans and add another hugely talented player to our already fearsome attack.

No doubt the Frenchman would cost a pretty penny, but with plenty of funds available in the summer, at just 24, Griezmann is exactly the kind of quality player that could see Wenger pay big money for his fellow countryman if Atletico were to let him go.

Arsenal eye £7m January bid for Russian star Kokorin (Sun)

Reports are continuing to link the Dynamo Moscow striker with a move to the Gunners, and with his contract running down, Arsene is thought to want to bid £7m to bring him to the Emirates in January.

The 6ft Dynamo Moscow striker was a relative unknown to most Gunners fans when his name cropped up in the summer. However, it seems Arsene has seen something in him, despite him scoring less than 10 goals a season in Russia.

With the Benzema and Cavani transfers coming to nothing, Arsenal were heavily linked with Kokorin in the summer window and there was an unsuccessful offer on the table for him.

He is a big powerful number 9 and looks more in the mould of Giroud than anyone else in the squad. Could well be a good bit of business for Wenger as a prospect and backup signing who would most likely not demand first team football the way Benzema would.
