Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, is reportedly interested in purchasing the Gooners in the future.
Dangote, who is worth a staggering $15.7 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, has renewed his interest in owning the club.
A long time Arsenal fanatic, Dangote has flirted with the idea of purchasing the team before.
The Nigerian reportedly came close to submitting a bid to own the team back in 2010, but ultimately decided against it in order to grow his own business.
Dangote has made news this week for expressing a newfound desire to own the club. He said earlier this week:
“I still hope, one day at the right price, that I’ll buy the team. I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist. I know my strategy.”
Potentially even more news-worthy is Dangote’s belief that Aresene Wenger needs to, “change his style a bit.”
The news that Arsenal’s potential future owner believes the club needs a “new direction” will surely get Wenger’s attention.
