There are many rumours beginning to surface that Arsenal have sealed a deal for Argentinian striker Maxi Romero. Romero is quite far from a household name, however, who exactly is this 16-year-old striker that Arsene Wenger is so keen on signing?

Maximiliano Samuel Romero is a 16-year-old striker who plays for Argentinian side Velez Sarsfield. Romero has been dubbed the new “Messi” with his superb dribbling and finishing ability; he is also a versatile striker that is able to play on the wing due to his natural pace.

It is rumoured that Arsenal has agreed a free for £4.5million for the young forward. Although this is a lot of money for an unknown talent, the investment is a small one if the player develops into a world-class striker.  Arsenal is known for signing young players and Romero is no exception. Although Wenger has spent serious money on Alexis Sanchez and Ozil, it seems he is reverting back to his old ways of developing youth.
