Olivier Giroud is a French striker who joined Arsenal in the summer of 2012 for a nominal fee rumored to be around £12million. Since moving from Montpellier, Giroud has scored a total of 41 goals in 90 appearances in the Premier League. This statistic almost averages to a goal every other game which is quite impressive for a striker who was signed for just over £10million.
Arsenal have repeatedly been linked with Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuaín from Italian side Napoli. The Argentinian, who formerly played for Real Madrid, is known for his natural goalscoring ability. Ironically, Higuaín who is labeled as a world-class striker boasts a similar goal scoring ratio to Giroud with 30 goals in 60 appearances for Napoli. It is rumored that Napoli would be willing to sell Higuaín for £35 million which is an exorbitant amount of money for a player with similar statistics to that of Giroud. Arsenal might look to give Olivier Giroud a raise before shelling out that kind of money on a player who has not truly impressed during his spell in Italy.
