Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe is on the verge of joining Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has told BBC WM that the club have agreed a fee for the 21-year-old striker.

“He has a good scoring record in League One and is ready to step up to Championship football,” said Jackett.

Jackett is right, Afobe has scored 19 goals this season on loan with MK Dons including 2 in the 4-0 victory over Manchester United.

Jackett added: “He [Afobe] has proved an asset for MK Dons. He has the pace, power and goal-scoring record that we need. He has got over his injury problems and is on a very good run.

“I watched him come through at Arsenal and watched his progress up to the current time.

“At 21, he fits into the bracket we are looking for that can improve us. He will help us in the second half of this season and the years to come.”

What a sad day. Its becoming abundantly clear that Arsenal FC aint what it used to be. Shipping out our own kids who were literally born and bred. I cant blame them coz they are looking for playing time they don’t get at the club. This is a very sad day for us who have enjoyed seeing these kids growing up and now they will leave for ever. What has our club become? Another plastic club?
