According to reports in the Independent, Arsenal are ready to meet Sporting Lisbon’s asking price for the signature of William Carvalho.
The 22-year-old is still very much in the early stage of his career and the Portuguese international is yet to reach 50 league appearances for Sporting CP.
Despite being born in Angola, Carvalho has represented Portugal from Under-17 level.
Wenger is ready to commit to the signing and £20m will be the cost.
