Roma forward Mattia Destro has issued Arsenal with a ‘come get me’ plea after welcoming speculation linking him to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners, along with Chelsea, have been touted to make a January move for the £20m-rated Italian, who has 22 goals in 49 appearances for the Italian giants.

And the 23-year-old did little to dissuade Arsenal out of tabling a bid by saying: “Arsenal for me? The rumours are good, I’m happy for them. This is the proof that I’m doing my work well,” Destro told Tuttosport.

“There are so many things that I can improve on. I must never stop and continue to learn new things.

“The coach [Rudi Garcia] encourages me a lot, he is teaching me some things, and I try to show my skills on the pitch, as well as the confidence he has in me.”

Let’s hope that Chelsea do not decide to pursue him because, well, let’s face it; we need a decent forward far more than they do.

The Gooner is a big fan of Olivier Giroud, and Danny Welbeck is alright I suppose, but can either of them score from 40 yards? This bloke can. Take a watch below.
