With Arsenal on the verge of signing young German midfielder Julian Draxler from Schalke, the Gunners have received a timely boost that Draxler could be fit to play in 8 days according to ESPN.

Draxler has been sidelined with a ruptured ankle tendon he picked up after the 2-0 Champions League win over FC Basel in mid-December, and it had first been feared he would be injured until March.

However, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has received good news on his transfer target, with Draxler being told by German specialist Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt that he can return to action in a week.

With the stack of injuries Arsenal have, it caught many by surprise that Wenger would be willing to sign an injured player but now it seems that his gamble has paid off if Draxler can virtually play as soon as he is signed.

It would have been ideal for Draxler to be bedded in slowly at Arsenal so he gets up to speed with the club and the pace of the Premier League but we are going to need him to start firing straight away following the injuries to Ramsey and Walcott, coupled with the four match suspension of Flamini and Giroud being our only real proper striker.
