Arsenal are reportedly considering a £30million double swoop for Newcastle duo Yohan Cabaye and Davide Santon according to reports.

Arsenal tried to sign Cabaye fron Newcastle in the summer but their bid was rejected but now it seems as if Arsene Wenger to ready to try bid again for the midfielder and at the same time also try sign the Magpies full back Santon.

Cabaye would prove to be a quality addition to the Arsenal side as he is capable of playing a variety of roles in central midfield. One may say that Arsenal already have enough central midfielders with Flamini, Wilshere, Arteta and Ramsey but Cabaye would offer something different compared to all of them and we need as much depth as we can if we are to challenge consistently for honours.

Italy international Santon’s versatility on either flank has sparked Wenger’s interest in him. With Sagna set to leave in the summer and Gibbs having injury problems, Santon would be a great signing for Wenger as quality full backs are difficult to get today.

The fee of £30million for both of them seems to be a very good deal for Arsenal. I am not sure if Newcastle would be willing to sell either of those players though. It will be interesting to see how the remaining days in the transfer window pan out.
