Striker agrees to leave Barcelona – Arsenal favourites

|

Tony Sanabria has verbally agreed a deal with another club after deciding to quit Barcelona, reports El Mundo Deportivo.

The young Paraguayan starlet has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal having decided not to extend his current deal at Barcelona. This comes as great news for Arsenal as we are desperately in need of a new striker.

Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo claims that the 17-year-old has already verbally agreed to join another club and the favourites to land his signature are Arsenal and AS Roma.

It is being reported that both Arsenal and Roma are prepared to pay €3million to make sure they sign the player in January in a deal that could rise to €4million or €5milllion.

Sanabria is reported to have requested to leave as soon as possible but unless his €3million release clause is met, Barcelona have the right to hold on to him until 2015, when the player’s contract expires.

Surely Arsene Wenger would be willing to part with €3million for this young exciting attacker. He may not be quite ready to be thrown into the starting lineup at the Emirates but given some time to adjust to English football, he could go on to be become one of the greats. If Wenger is able to capture Sanabria, he still would have to go into the market and sign a ready made striker who is capable of stepping in to help Olivier Giroud now.
