Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona forward Pedro according to the Daily Express. We all know that Arsenal are in need of a new striker in January to help take the pressure off Olivier Giroud but is a player like Pedro what we need?
It is being suggested that Pedro is unhappy with the lack of playing time at Barcelona and he wants to play more regularly in a bid to secure his place in the Spanish side for the upcoming World Cup.
Pedro has a £125million buyout clause which I am sure Arsenal, nor any other club would meet for the 26-year old. A loan move may turn out to be the best possible option.
My worry with Pedro is that he is more of a wide attacking forward as he plays either on the left or the right. He is also capable of playing down the middle but that is not his best position. We already have a lot of great attacking options coming in from out wide and from midfield, meaning that Pedro would be a nice to have and not a necessity.
Wenger needs to go out and bring in an out-and-out striker like Benzema, Llorente or Ba.
