With the transfer speculation mounting as we get closer to the January transfer window, Arsenal continue to be linked with all sorts of different strikers from across the world. It is no secret that we need another striker to come in an help Olivier Giroud if we are to continue our challenge for the Premier League and Champions League.

Arsene Wenger was asked today about all the striker transfer speculation and he had this to say on Arsenal.com:

on buying a striker in January…
I am not concerned about that. We have at the moment Yaya Sanogo who is a striker we brought in during the summer, who is coming back from injury in January. Hopefully he will help us in the second part of the season.

on a reported bid for Alexandre Pato…
No.

on speculation over a move for Alvaro Morata…
No. There is no truth in that. That is all I can say, I have not been in touch with them [Real Madrid].

Well there we go guys, no bids for Pato and Morata have been made contrary to all the reports going around. I certainly hope that this is just Wenger creating a smoke screen and behind the scenes we are working hard to sign someone. I seriously doubt that Sanogo is ready though to be a first team regular at this stage, he is certainly one for the future.
