Reports: Arsenal set to land Barcelona striker

|

Arsenal are set to beat Roma in bid to land £2.5million rated Barcelona youngster Sanabria according to the Daily Mail.

It is being reported that Arsenal and Roma have made offers for Barcelona teenager Tonny Sanabria. The 17-year-old striker is a Paraguay international and regular in Barcelona’s B side.

His representatives held meetings on Wednesday and Arsenal are deemed favourites to pip Roma to his signature once they trigger the player’s £2.5million buy-out clause next month.

Arsenal are in desperate need of a new striker to help take the weight off Olivier Giroud’s shoulders. Sanabria could be another great coup for the Gunners just like when Cesc Fabregas left Barcelona at a young age to move to London. Sanabria may not be able to help Arsenal straight away as he lacks experience at the top level but in two or three years time, he could be leading the Arsenal line in the first team.
