Arsenal fan “EPLTakeover” had a lot to say after the Southampton game as he pointed out the poor form of Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere after the 2-0 win.
To be fair, Ozil did have a quiet game against Southampton and one may say that he is not 100% fit following the flu big that hit the club before the International break. We all know Wilshere has niggling injury problems but he seems to be getting back to some fitness now.
This however did not stop EPLTakeover to air his frustrations on Ozil and say:
We just didn’t create any chances. And I think the reason we didn’t create any chances is because Ozil, again, had a rubbish game.
I think we’re at the point now where we can start saying Ozil’s not looked good for about a month, which is quite worrying when you spend 44-45 million on a player. Ozil needs to up his game.
We need to see more from Ozil. We need to see more from Wilshere. We hold them up as such great players but they are not performing.

…. and like many so called fans there is no mention of wingers being missing, 85% of Özils game relies on FORWARDS on the wings making runs down the channels and central FORWARDS also making runs. Instead he had makeshift stop gaps on the wings and a striker marked to death by both of the Saints centre-halves. Add to this Southampton parking the bus in front of goal and randomly breaking very dangerously throughout periods of the game.
The logic here points to all this being because of Özil not having 5 assists per half, WOW. Oh yeah! o_O
Hands up if we would be 4 pts clear at the top of the table if we didn’t have Özil in the team this season. Name one player or manager in the professional game who doesn’t consider Özil to be a player they wished was in their team (in other words people who know what they are talking about)?

Ozil is just fine. You must have missed his sublime passing against Southampton. You expect dazzle from the guy in every game, that is not always going to happen. Even on his quiet day he had a pretty good game. So calm down with the negativity.
Many of us saw that Ozil at less, should be equal of his first arrived performances. I do think so. But, it’s a long way to go and his graphic of form will sure to be up again. One method is giving him free kick taker’s duty as many as possible, which was role by Arteta on entire Soton’s game. I’m still wondering why, because the outcome was none. Cazorla took it from the right and Ozil from the left only. The OZ is currently the most accurate crosser (he assist 2 goals on Stoke’s match) of the league and we didn’t make full use of it. That’s disturbing my mind right now.
