Nicklas Bendtner: I want to leave Arsenal

Bendtner

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has made it clear that he wants to leave Arsenal as soon as possible. This is no surprise and I as a fan am happy about this. The striker was out of contention with the club last season, and the season before – but with a striker crisis he was called back in to the fold for the start of the campaign but he is still as useless as he ever was!

The 25-year-old Bendtner came close to leaving Emirates Stadium over the summer, with talks held with Crystal Palace. That move never came through and he is still at the Emirates as Olivier Giroud’s backup.

“I want to get away from Arsenal. Whether it is in the winter, we must wait and see,” he told reporters while away on international duty.

“I will make my decision depending on where the greatest sporting challenge lies. Finances, in this context, mean very little to me.

“I’ve been playing football since I was four years old and back then it was for the love of the sport. It is for the love of the sport that I play today as well.”

The best situation for everyone concerned, fans, Arsene Wenger and Bendtner himself, is for Bendtner to leave in January and let Arsenal bring in another striker.

Giroud can not continue shouldering the load himself and we need another quality striker to come in. The likes of Benzema, Llorente, Ba and Benteke have been linked with a move to Arsenal and that is the kind of quality we need.
