2012 saw the birth of new figure at Arsenal FC, and that one was of French international striker Olivier Giroud.
Olivier Giroud joined the Arsenal ranks rarely known amongst the Arsenal faithful but came hot of the heals of his most successful personal season with him guiding Montpellier to the League 1 title and him gaining the golden boot with scoring 21 goals in the season.
Olivier Giroud had the tough task of replacing the Dutchman Robin Van Persie and early pressure from Gunners fans started to show as Olivier Giroud had a pretty much average season scoring 17 goals.
Already branded as a flop or not an Arsenal level striker, many Gunners didn’t expect much from Giroud in the 2013-2014 season, but boy o boy were we wrong.
Giroud started firing early on in Arsenal’s pre-season match up’s and let that confidence run into the league. And Giroud already currently stands on 5 goals in the Premier League and already has couple bagged in the Champimos League.
This season Giroud is silencing critique’s every week wether it be scoring or be it assisting or even defending, Giroud has not only earned his place in the Gunners squad but deserves his place.
P.S just a sidenote here but I don’t know about you guys but I just love his celebration when he scores, shows real passion for the club and its fans.
As the title says new talisman, I personally think of Giroud being that, and with him being suported by Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla you can expect a lot more from the French hitman.
