It is like an unwritten rule in football that you do not celebrate when you have scored a goal against your former club. If you do celebrate, it would be very polite.
But that was not the case with Robin Van Persie on Sunday, when he headed home the winner against Arsenal at Old Trafford. Van Persie slid to the corner flag on his knees and celebrated like they had won the Premier League.
This celebration has sparked a lot of talk on Twitter from Arsenal and Manchester United fans. Here are some of their comments. What are your thought with regards to Van Persieβs celebration?
I'm still so distraught over our loss on the weekend. What a disgusting celebration from Van Persie.

Compare Van Persie's celebration to the apathy of last season. We didn't matter then. We do now. It's not too bad being top of the league.

Robin van Persie's ecstatic goal celebration was a mark of respect for his old club not the contrary. Recognizing genuine rivals

Did Van Persie play with arsenal before ? That celebration showed no respect there for us .. Good goal .. Bad man
