Corinthians willing to sell Alexandre Pato to Arsenal

|

Arsenal’s search for a new striker continues, especially with the feeling around The Emirates that the club needs another striker in case Giroud gets injured.

One player who could be brought in to the club is Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato. Reports on Sky Sports suggest the his current club Corinthians would be willing to sell the striker in the January Transfer Window.

“Considering his value, I think it’s hard that he moves to another Brazilian club,” Corinthians director De Andrade told Radio Bandeirantes.

“If those two clubs (Arsenal and Tottenham) are interested in Pato, we don’t rule out selling him in the winter transfer market.”

The fact that Tottenham also wants him means that Arsenal have to work extra hard to get his signature as Spurs seem to just be buying and bidding for every player that other top clubs want.

Pato has already rejected a move to Tottenham though saying, “Tottenham had called Corinthians to ask for my transfer.

“I sat at the table with the club and my agent and I decided I wanted to stay.”

Wise move by Pato to reject Spurs and wait for a big cub like Arsenal to come in for him.

Now quality strikers do not come much better than Pato and this would be a perfect signing for the Gunners. Being Brazilian he already has the natural skill and flair to fit in with the current style of play at Arsenal. Pato would offer us something different to Giroud up front which is highly beneficial if Wenger needs a Plan B.
