One shock inclusion in midfield: How Arsenal should line up against Liverpool

Arsenal and Liverpool have both made an impressive start to the season playing some amazing football on the way. Only two points separate the teams with Liverpool having drawn a game more than Arsenal. Brendan Rogers is building a team that plays lovely football and one that will be capable of challenging for the title very soon. This is a crucial match for the gunners to prove all the critics (especially Hansen!) that we seriously mean business this time around.

When it comes to the teams, I’m very confident about our attacking talents and if we play at a high tempo (recall Napoli), we will surely brush Liverpool aside without much trouble. Giroud is on song and given the right service, he will be our main man tomorrow. My main worry is Flamini’s absence might give Gerard, Suarez and Sturridge room to roam as freely as they like and cause us serious damage. Suarez and Sturridge are probably the deadliest striking partners in Europe currently, having scored a combined 14 goals together despite Suarez missing the first couple of games through suspension. Personally I would play Vermalen in Flamini’s place. I know how much Arteta is important to the team because of his passing skills and the stability he brings, but I think he really slows us down. Arsenal are also missing Walcott (back off PSG!!) and Podolski on the wings. We’re playing very narrow and like Cazorla said, we get caught on the counter-attack because our full backs are busy attacking at the other end when proper wingers should have been doing that.

We will also witness Suarez for the first time after his much publicized flirting with Arsenal during the summer. All fans will be wondering what might have been had he signed for us and played in front of the Oz, Santi, Rambo, Wilshere, etc…

Overall, tomorrow’s game will surely be very entertaining and we will be treated to an exhibition by two wonderful teams with a lot of talented players.

My lineup – Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Vermaelen, Wilshere, Ramsey, Özil, Cazorla, Giroud
