One area of the squad that Arsenal are still a bit thing on is the defensive midfield department. Currently Flamini has been doing very well on the position but now with his groin injury on Saturday against Crystal Palace, we look short of options there.

So it is no real surprise that Arsenal are being linked with a mover for West Brom’s midfield enforcer Youssouf Mulumbu. The Mirror is reporting that Arsenal are plotting a £7million January bid for the defender whom was watched at Stoke a week ago by Arsenal scouts and was given glowing reports on his performance.

Mulumbu would be a great signing for Arsenal as he already has Premier League experience and he has proven that he van handle his own against any midfield in the league.

If West Brom are willing to sell him then Wenger must make sure that he leads the chase and does not let this signing get away.

Having a player like Mulumbu would give us more depth in the central midfield as he can rotate with Flamini or even play both Mulumbu and Flamini in some games and really free up the likes of Ozil, Ramsey and Carzola to attack freely knowing that they are very well protected behind them.
