Arsenal to make £43million bid for striker in January

Benzema to Arsenal

It is being reported that a club, thought to be Arsenal, is set to make a £43million bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in January.

Arsenal do need another striker as Giroud is currently the only recognised striker on the books and if he gets injured or has a dip in form then there is no one to come in. Wenger is known to be a long term admirer of Benzem and there was even a suggestion that Wenger tried to sign the 25-year old Frenchman in the summer but Madrid turned the move down.

But respected agent Francois Gallardo says an unnamed Premier League club – almost certainly Arsenal – will try and get Benzema in the new year.

‘A very important Premier League club is after Karim,’ Gallardo told Le Sport 10.

‘This club wants the transfer to happen this winter, but if this is not possible, then next summer at the latest.

‘The offer will be around €50million [£43million].’

This would be a great signing for Arsenal and would really show their desire to push for major honours. One striker will not get the job done thus more cash has to be splashed to bring in another world class player. Having already spent £42.5million on Mesut Ozil, Weneger is set to still want to continue spending big.
