It seems like German players are the new thing with Arsenal right now. It used to be French but now we seem to have shifted east.
The Express is reporting that Arsenal are set to move for Borussia Monchengladbach star Patrick Herrmann, who was linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer.
Arsenal have been following the winger for a while now and have been impressed with his progress at the Bundesliga side, but Juventus are also keen on the £13million rated midfielder. Herrmann represented Germany at the European Under-21 Championships in June, and has been called up for the senior international side but is yet to make an appearance.
The 22-year old winger, who is under contract until 2016, would join a list of German stars already at The Emirates which include Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski, Mesut Ozil, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Eisfeld if the transfer does go ahead.
Wenger seems to be trying to build a squad of quality players so they we have enough options to come in when players are injured or out of form. Currently Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Podolski are out injured and we have no wide players in our side. A player like Herrmann would step in in a situation like this to give us that much needed injection of pace.
