The January transfer window rumours are coming in thick and fast now. Today the Metro is reporting that Arsenal will be offered Karim Benzema for £20million in January from Real Madrid as the Spanish giants try to finance a deal to get Luis Suarez from Liverpool.

Now this is one bit of business I would be very happy with. Suarez was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer and the Gunners even put in a £40million and one bid for him but Liverpool rejected it. I can not see Suarez joining Arsenal post that, as his heart seems set on joining Real Madrid.

Now I am sure Madrid have analysed the whole situation and they know that they can get Suarez is they put in a decent bid. But having spent £80million plus on Gareth Bale they need to sell first before they can buy Suarez. So what do they do? They sell Karim Benzema to Arsenal to fund the Suarez deal. Who wins at the end of the day? Arsenal, as we get in a quality striker for a knock down fee of £20million.

Benzema has not had the best of seasons thus far for Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti is clearly not happy with the 25-year old French striker. Madrid’s loss would be Arsenal’s gain as Benzema is still a quality striker and would flourish in the current Arsenal side under the stewardship of Arsene Wenger.
